The Slippery Slope

The Slippery Slope

It all started with you
Mr. Chubby McGroo.

Sure, you do have big ears
and legs that are stumpy,
But, one look at those eyes
and my breath gets all lumpy.

Your hee haw sound carries
all through the 'hood
when you hear my keen whistle
and you always sound good.

I followed you round
from pasture to pen
and met all your horse pals
again and again.

Til at last I was thinking
perhaps it was time
to saddle a horse
that I could call mine.

But no lovely horse
could ever replace
that feel in my heart
when I look at your grace.

So relax and enjoy
as I ride by on Ace.
Don't buck all around
and give me that face.

It all started with you
my donkey pal, Slipper.
This rekindled love
has left me much stiffer

from tacking and riding
my black beauty horse
and brushing and picking
his hooves out of course.

The "Slippery" slope
all started with you
and for that I am grateful
and know you are too.

You're laughing now, aren't you
at my great surprise
when all horsey costs
flash past my eyes.

Your owners are awesome
your stable friends great
my heart's full of happiest
love of this fate.

So thank you, my pudge,
dear donkey so loyal
you've opened my life
to all that is royal.
